Varicose Sclerotherapy
'' Your Legs are Important for Your Beauty ''
How are varicose veins treated with Laser 2 ?

A large fraction of varicose veins are caused by a superficial defect called Vena
Safena Magna (VSM) located on the inside of the leg. One or more valves in this vein are damaged and due to dysfunction of the valves the blood moving to the heart is blocked and may even cause to swelling and ulserations of the leg by collecting inside . The VSM vessel expands with time and chainedly causes to occuring varicose veins on the surface of the leg .
In Laser freatment, the catheter is placed in this vein, where the laser probe is
found through the guide wire, which is sent through a needle hole accompanied
by ultrasound imaging.

With the laser, the vascular is burned with the heat created in the vein and provides the formation of scar tissue. By this way , the vessel is closed and the catheter is removed.

Local anesthesia is used to avoid pain during the procedure and is painless . It doesn't cause any scars over the skin surface
After a short rest, you can resume your normal routine . It requires no
hospitalization .
It is recommended that you use varicose stockings for 10 days after the procedure so that quicken the healing process . The healing process is similar to most wound healing. There may be mild pain that responds to painkillers during the healing process. After 1 Week, It is checked with the control Doppler USG so that to ensure the Varicose Vein is totally closed .The enlarged varicose veins quickly regress after the procedure and it is expected disappear completely within a few months . If there are varicose veins that might resists and continue to remain due to various reasons, they can also be treated with sclerotherapy a month or two after the first operation and completely closed .
What are the Symptoms of Varicose Veins ?

Varicose veins are usually blue or dark purple veins with a cross-sectional extension and enlarged . They may also have a bumpy or curved appearance . Varicose veins are more common in women than in men. Varicose veins can occur anywhere in the body , but mostly common in the veins of the foot and leg.
Major significant Symptoms of varicose veins are pain in the leg , burning , tiredness . These symptoms usually worsen after sitting or standing for a long time . Swelling in the feet and ankles , itching may occur in the legs . In some patients, none of these symptoms can be seen, and only the blue, dark purple veins that are enlarged and prominent in the skin can be seen.
In advanced cases, swelling and pain in the legs get worsen and these complaints become even more noticeable after a long period of sitting or standing. Color changes in the skin , dryness , thinning , inflammation and rashes may occur . Ulcers may occur due to varicose veins. Dilated varicose veins enlarge over time and cause also cosmetic problems.
How do Varicose Veins Occur ?

Varicose veins are very common in society, disrupting the quality of life and in some cases can lead to serious health problems. the veins in our legs have to work against gravity when sending blood to the heart. In our daily life, when our leg muscles contracted they press over the veins located amid of the leg muscles , and helps to pump the blood to the heart . A large number of valves in the leg veins prevent blood from escaping down back when our muscles relax . Depending to the work and life conditions of especially who have some specific occupations which needs to standing for long time like teachers, waiters etc. , these valves might become disfunctional and this trigger the illness .

Treatment of Varicose Veins with Sclerotherapy ( Foam Therapy )

With sclerotherapy, a controlled endothelial damage is been created with some medicines injected into the vein (chemical ablation) and capillaries disappear in weeks and months . The most commonly used agents for sclerotherapy are Polidocanol and Sodium Tetradecyl Sulfate. In classic sclerotherapy, these medicines are injected into the vein in liquid form . Liquid sclerotherapy is mostly used in the treatment of small diameter spider and reticular veins. In foam sclerotherapy, these drugs are mixed with air to form a foam and injected into the vein.
Although sclerotherapy foam treatment is mostly applied in telangiectasia and
reticular veins, it can be used in varicose veins wider than 3 mm and even in
whole saphenous vein.
Successful ablation procedures have been reported in recent years with the
introduction of a sclerosing agent in the form of foam to the saphenous vein with
ultrasound guidance. However, the recurrence rate of this method is higher than
that of endothermal ablation.
