What is a liposuction ?

The term liposuction refers to a medical method in which excess fat deposits are pulled out of the body with the help of an aspirator, certain body zones are corrected and silhouettes are shaped . The liposuction method is not used in the treatment of obesity. Of course, this procedure can not replace the right diet and exercise. It is not effective in treating cellulite. It has no improving effect on sagged skin. How long does the healing process take after liposuction ?

Liposuction is done in smaller areas , under local anesthesia or it is done under general anesthesia if in multiple areas . The duration of treatment may vary depending on the field of application from 30 minutes to 3-4 hours. At the end of the operation, the patients are dressed a tight corset, which is recommended to be worn for 3-4 weeks. The cannula holes in the skin usually heal easily without leaving scars. The swelling, due to the surgery, gradually decreases in 3-4 months and then disappears completely. Possible bruising on the skin improves within 7-10 days. The final decision on the success of the operation can only be made after 3 months. Sometimes minor revisions may be required. This operation requires a movement restriction of up to a week, which, however, is also dependent on the size and the scope. After a week you can slowly start small walks outside the house. Your doctor may recommend you to use antibiotics and painkillers during the first week.
